Tonight [03/21/10] the House of Representatives gave final congressional approval to the Senate health care reform bill and sent it to the President for his signature. We are very pleased to inform you that thanks to many months of tireless advocacy by grassroots psychologists like you and our government relations team, the new law will extend the 5% Medicare psychotherapy payment restoration for all of 2010 retroactive to January 1. Congratulations on this important victory on this critical payment issue for psychologists!
In the months ahead, we will continue to push for Congress to extend our provision through the end of 2011 in Medicare legislation later this year. We will keep you posted as your grassroots support is needed.
The process is expected to move forward on other aspects of health care reform in the Senate. We will have more information for you as it becomes available in the coming weeks.
