I am pleased to announce that The Scientist will be added to our popular “Research News Update” series. Not to be confused with Science Daily that also receives updated coverage here, The Scientist is another great research-based, hardcore science website that I regularly track. The Scientist focuses on genetics, biology, and other public health related issues. The Scientist does not release anywhere near the volume of articles as Science Daily so only expect to see updates every 3 or 4 weeks. Today’s coverage includes a new form of cancer, NIH to clean up financial conflicts of interest, the home of immune memory discovered, and more. **You will need to register for a free account at The Scientist to view their articles.**
Here is today’s The Scientist Research News Update in no particular order:
- Blood grows when it flows
- Journals speed up flu studies
- A new epigenetic cancer
- National Institutes of Health (NIH) finally takes on conflicts
- Science scores in 2010 US budget – but NIH does not get big increase in funding
- Elsevier published 6 fake journals
- Home of immune memory found
- Now Showing: RNA Activation
- Old ovaries, new eggs
- Brain diseases (Autism/Schizophrenia) are genomic opposites
Enjoy.
