About me
Christopher Fisher, M.A., Managing Editor for The Behavioral Medicine Report, is currently a 5th year doctoral student in Clinical Health Psychology & Behavioral Medicine at the University of North Texas (UNT-Denton), and senior staff and technical coordinator at the UNT Neurotherapy Lab. Chris’ doctoral program is unique in its multidisciplinary approach. In addition to traditional clinical psychology courses, students study health psychology, pharmacology, physiology, applied behavioral analysis, biofeedback, and other topics. Some courses are taken at UNT's medical school, the UNT-Health Science Center, through a consortium agreement. Chris further received specialized clinical training in neurofeedback, biofeedback, cranial electrical stimulation (CES), and quantitative EEG (”QEEG” or “brainmapping”). Chris’ research areas include neurofeedback and EEG phenotypes specific to substance abusers. For his Ph.D. dissertation, which is currently underway, Chris is investigating impact of neurofeedback on sleep and co-morbid psychological conditions. He received a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in 2005.
Chris enjoys spending time with family, watching sports and movies, and bicycling on rugged terrain.
