SenateJeff Cook from the American Psychological Association Practice Organization is currently providing updates on the impending Congressional vote expected this evening related to the Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR). This is an extremely important event for healthcare providers who accept health insurance, especially Medicare/Medicaid. I will condense his hour-by-hour updates in this post, but will create a new post for the final outcome – which you can expect to see later this evening or by tomorrow morning.

Dear Federal Advocacy Coordinators:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has announced that the chamber will vote tonight on the Senate-passed stand-alone bill that postpones the 21.3% Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) cut retroactive to June 1 and through November 30, 2010. Thanks for keeping up the pressure! Please expect to receive an information alert after the vote.
