Congresswoman Michele Bachmann formally introduced a bill (with co-sponsors) that would repeal President Obama’s Health-Care Plan discussed at BMED Report here and here. Congresswoman Bachmann asks for your support by signing an online petition. Many Americans have serious concerns about the government take over of healthcare, new taxation of Americans with decent private insurance, fining those who refuse to purchase a commercial product (health insurance) they may not want or need, and the unfair back room deals to various U.S. States and interest groups. If this describes you, now is your chance to voice your opposition to “ObamaCare” and demand its repeal. Check the end of this report for a link to Congresswoman Bachmann’s online petition.
In contrast to the 2000+ page The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (H.R 3962) and 2000+ page The Health Care and Education Affordability Reconciliation Act of 2010 (H.R.4872), Congresswoman Bachmann’s bill is only 41 words. Now that is efficient. There is no cost to sign the petition though a donation box appears after you submit your name, but rest assured your name was added to the petition list, and you are NOT required to donate money.
I suppose that readers believe that I am sympathetic to the Republican Party given my support to repeal ObamaCare. Actually, I am extremely unhappy (to state it mildly) with the financial mess both Democrats and Republicans have lead us into with no end in sight. I am simply dislike this healthcare bill more than I do Democrats or Republicans, and it appears that only Republicans advocate repeal of this bill. Hence, this means I am on board the Republican repeal movement.
Does the repeal of Obamacare have a realistic chance? Only a small chance with a long battle ahead, but certain pieces of the bill might be subject to repeal more easily or at least de-funded (which essentially kills the program). One thing is for sure, without a Conservative sweep of both houses in November, there is no chance whatsoever of repeal or defunding.
